Penn State Panhellenic Council
After becoming a sister of a sorority, you automatically become a member of the Panhellenic Council. At Penn State, there are 21 sororities, all overseen by this Council. I had been involved in student government in high school, so having a larger impact on this community was something that intrigued me right off the bat. Last year, the Council introduced a new position titled "Vice President of Wellness". The position is relatively new, with wellness only being acknowledged on a national scale within the past couple of years. My platform consisted of teaching the 5,000 women of the council how many resources there are available to them and educating them on the multiple sides of wellness: mental, physical and emotional. I have attached both the stat sheet that every voting member received and the speech I read the night of elections.
